Parke Place is an age restricted 55 years or older community with a mix of condominiums and single family homes. Common elements are shared by residents of the condos and single family homes.
The 136 condominiums operate under a set of covenants and restrictions with a five-member Board of Trustees. They have a budget that applies to just the condominiums.
The 276 Single Family Homes (SFH) are organized with their own covenants and restrictions and are governed by the five-member board of the Parke Place Community Service Association (PPCSA). The association has its own budget for expenses associates with the Single Family Homes. It also administers a second budget for the common elements.
The common elements with in the Parke Place Community are:
- The Clubhouse, which is center for many activities.
- Swimming Pool
- Tennis and Bocce Courts
- Sidewalks and all common area landscaping and maintenance.
- The storm drainage system, which consists of seven basins and the surrounding areas.
Services provided by the community include lawn mowing and snow removal.
HISTORY AND LOCATION
Parke Place was built between 1999 and 2004, and is located on New Jersey Highway 47 (Delsea Drive) at Parke Place Blvd in the City of Sewell, the Washington Township, Gloucester County.
Washington Township was founded in 1838. It has approximately 48,000 residents (2010 census) and encompasses 21,600 square miles. It is governed under the Faulkner Act, and has a mayor and a five-member municipal council.
The township has four large parks to enjoy with walking trails, dog parks, sports fields, and amphitheaters for summer concerts, plus a par three golf course. A senior center offers a variety of activities and services, including bus service for those who do not drive. (Follow this link for more information.)
Nearby municipalities include Glassboro (location of Rowan University) and Pitman. It is 18 miles from Philadelphia, about 50 miles from the nearest Atlantic Ocean beaches, and 100 miles from New York City and Baltimore.
